Enabling Early Career Development and Networking in a Hybrid Environment

During a hybrid internship facilitated by Hayes Culleton Group, we used Active Peers AI, both the ethos and the technology, lots and LOTS of times.

Features of Active Peers AI Techology

- Survey Tool
- AI Matching Algorithm
- Custom Prompter
- Feedback Tool

- We used the Active Peers AI LinkedIn page to crowdsource wisdom and give people a digital platform to connect and reach out to others outside the company.
- The Active Peers AI survey tool was used to help the group identify their strengths, clarify the areas they wanted to build on and then match people accordingly to spread tacit knowledge around effectively. The hashtag feature is very effective at enabling this, and the slicers offer niche insights quickly.
- The interns used the Custom Prompter as they prepared for a podcast interview. They were tasked with recording a conversation with a staff member; in preparation for that, they looked at the questions in our Prompters before building their own.
- We frequently used the Feedback tool to bank the learning, plot the development journey of the interns, turn tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge, help inspire LinkedIn posts showcasing "here is what I learned today..." and understand what people hoped to achieve.
- The whole ethos of Active Peers AI is to help people learn from each other optimally. Throughout the experience, interns were constantly put into situations that primed that. All of the above refer to examples, but there were other introspective activities (as sometimes peer learning is learning from oneself!), pair work, group work, survey responses, asking speakers questions, and presenting summaries.

Results

Throughout the two-week internship, our 21 students created over 1000 outputs, including LinkedIn posts, survey responses, presentations, discussion summaries, best practices wishlists, a crowd-sourced vocabulary, research insights etc.
A quote from a member of the group sums it all up:
> **Thank you very much for the past two weeks. I never imagined that I would learn so much or enjoy the internship as much as I did.**
